Starter-freewheel inner rings

NB: These instructions are given for guidance only and cannot engage the author's liability in the event of misinterpretation, failure to assess the vehicle's actual condition and/or non-conformity, unsuitable mechanical practice or the use of inappropriate tools.

The starter-freewheel inner rings are accurately re-manufactured in special cast iron.

  • They must be fitted carefully and without cocking them, to avoid any risk of cracking.
  • They are fitted with small plugs that close off the top of the plunger housings. This arrangement allows the top of a housing to be opened up later to extract a broken spring — an operation that is extremely difficult with the original rings.
