Ignition leads (HT wiring)

NB: These instructions are given for guidance only and cannot engage the author's liability in the event of misinterpretation, failure to assess the vehicle's actual condition and/or non-conformity, unsuitable mechanical practice or the use of inappropriate tools.

The ignition leads consist of the required lengths of HT cable — copper-core, silicone quality — and NGK plug caps with a built-in 5 kΩ resistor to protect the ignition modules. Depending on the position of the coils on the frame, cut the cables to the correct length.

On three-cylinder models, the straight cap goes to cylinder 2 and the two angled caps to cylinders 1 and 3.

Use non-resistive spark plugs, for example NGK B8ES or Champion N3C (for normal use and standard engines). Champion plugs match the required heat range more closely and are less prone to cold fouling/misfire.
